Three multipliers stack:

• Length — 3-4 letters = 1×, 5-6 letters = 1.5×, 7+ letters = 2×
• Rare letters — any word containing Q, X, or Z = 2×
• Easter eggs — RAIN scores 3×. More hidden words exist.

So a 7-letter word with a Z scores roughly 4× a similar word with common letters.

Each round has a score threshold. Round 1 needs 25 points, Round 2 needs 75 cumulative, Round 3 needs 150, and so on up to Round 10 which needs 1,900+. You must reach the threshold before the round timer runs out. Score persists across rounds — it doesn't reset.

The first time you cross the current round's score threshold during the round, you earn +10 seconds added to that round's timer. This lets you build more cushion before the round ends.

The ENABLE wordlist (about 173,000 English words — the same dictionary used by Words With Friends and most Scrabble tournaments). We've also added about 22,000 common first names, surnames, and places. If a word is real, it almost certainly scores.

Three common reasons:

• The word is fewer than 3 letters (minimum word length).
• The word isn't in our dictionary (rare, archaic, or hyphenated forms often aren't).
• Your tray doesn't contain all the letters needed (you can only use letters you've already caught).

Tap "Challenge" on the game-over screen. Letterain generates a signed link containing your score and the round's letter rain. Share it via text or social media. When your friend taps the link on a device with Letterain installed, the game opens with the exact same letter rain you played — making it a pure skill comparison.

Universal Links require both you and your friend to have Letterain installed. If they don't have it yet, the link will open in their browser and offer a download. If they have it installed but tapping the link still opens the browser, try long-pressing the link → Open in "Letterain".

Sign into the same Apple ID, install Letterain, open Settings inside the app → Restore Purchases. The Pro entitlement will sync from Apple within seconds.

Refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com within 90 days of purchase to request one. Apple is generally generous with first-time refund requests.

iPhone running iOS 17 or newer. iPad support is included but the layout is optimized for iPhone — iPad runs in portrait with the same UI. Apple Watch support is not yet available.

Open Settings inside the app → scroll to "Danger Zone" → tap "Reset all stats". A confirmation alert will appear. This permanently erases your personal best score, best word, and totals. It does not revoke Letterain Pro.
